About Monica Abd El Nour, MD
Monica Abdelnour, MD, MSCI, is a pediatric infectious disease specialist at Phoenix Children's. She provides expert care for a wide range of infections, from common illnesses to complex conditions. Dr. Abdelnour emphasizes safe, effective treatments that minimize unnecessary antibiotic use and promote long-term health.
She earned her medical degree from the University of Galway in Galway, Ireland, and completed her pediatric residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois, where she served as chief resident. She then pursued a fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where she also earned a master's degree in clinical investigation and was named Scholar of the Year.
A dedicated researcher and educator, Dr. Abdelnour has published and presented extensively on optimizing care while reducing antibiotic overuse and misuse. She is a member of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Outside of work, Dr. Abdelnour enjoys hiking, swimming, camping, and spending time with her husband, child and two dogs.
