Laura G. Hamant, MD

Laura G. Hamant, MD, is a pediatric gastroenterologist at Phoenix Children's. Dr. Hamant has specialized training in neurogastroenterology and motility, as well as a clinical interest in the connection between the nervous and digestive systems.

Dr. Hamant graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of California in San Diego before earning her medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix. She completed her residency training in pediatrics at Phoenix Children's, as well as fellowships in pediatric gastroenterology and in pediatric neurogastroenterology and motility at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Hamant is a member of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Arizona Medical Association. She has been a recipient of the Rising Star award from the American Medical Association and has presented at the American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference and Exhibition.

An Arizona native, Dr. Hamant enjoys spending her free time outdoors hiking and skiing, as well as trying new restaurants, reading science fiction and spending time with her dogs.
